Ideas come to us in strange places. Legend says that Martin Luther came up with his revolutionary religious ideas while sitting on the commode. And rumor has it that Steve Jobs would sit in the bathroom on top of the toilet tank and dangle his feet in the water in search of his next great inspiration. On a less bathroom-related note, J.K. Rowling says that she outlined most of the first Harry Potter novel while stuck on a train for more than four hours. It seems like when our minds aren’t occupied with the minutia of running our daily lives, in those moments when we’re just…stopped…for a moment, great ideas come. And while these random thoughts may not change the world, they’re pretty mind blowing.
