Dads are commonly portrayed in entertainment and social media as either detached workaholics or irresponsible baffoons incapable of nurturing. So, it’s as important as it is thrilling to see Dads fully engaged in the care of their children, and to remember that in the “real” world there are exponentially more Dads who are heroes than zeros.
Although it may look a little different than mom’s, dad’s nurturing pattern is no less legit or important, especially in those families where Dad is also Mom. Dads are our great nap-buddies; they keep our secrets and encourage us to trust ourselves; they support our half-baked schemes, and teach us how to get stuff done in less time. While his push-it-to-the-edge play and rough-and-tumble love makes us giggle and mom cringe, research suggests that it also teaches us to be resilient, self-confident, and brave. In this collection of images are heartwarming and hilarious examples of Dads being amazing with their kids. Get ready for some awesome parenting, Dad-style.
